Equity Education Associates is a committed team of educators who serve a common goal. We believe in providing high quality professional development services to young and aspiring teachers and leaders in communities that are underserved and under-supported. EEA provides remote and on-site professional development opportunities on topics such as creating equitable learning environments, creating a culture of community in classrooms and across schools, and on ways to provide culturally relevant instruction in a variety of settings. We serve pre-service educators as well as leaders of equity in large scale educational settings.

Chief Equity Officer of Instructional Design and Delivery
Janice Kitchings is a retired educator with a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Her career spans over 34 years as a teacher, teacher specialist, literacy coach, curriculum coordinator, principal, assistant superintendent of schools (PK-12), and an executive director of elementary schools. With a focus on equity for ALL learners where they can reach their full potential, she has worked side by side with principals and teachers. She has developed and conducted professional development for adult learners and has been fortunate enough to coach and mentor teachers and administrators. She has served as Lead Facilitator of K-12 educators in school districts to create instructional frameworks that serve as an anchor for a clear and consistent common language and understanding of instruction.After a successful career in the public school system, she now provides professional development and support in creating learning experiences for professionals that enable them to gain the knowledge and experiences they need to be effective in their roles. Her collaborative process approach encourages continuous growth and development and is focused on designing equitable learning classrooms to create a stronger and more impactful learning environment for ALL learners. Outside of Equity Education Associates, Janice enjoys spending time at the beach. She works part-time as an Adjunct College Supervisor in the Alternative Pathway to Educator Certification program at Columbia College, Columbia, SC. She currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for Helping Hands in Aiken, SC, a nonprofit organization that is committed to the belief that every child deserves a nurturing and caring family, no matter what it looks like. One of her favorite quotes that sums up her attitude of helping others is by Maya Angelou: “ I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to give something back.

Reggie Wicker’s professional career spans over 26 years. His experiences as a district and building level administrator, classroom teacher and bus driver, have allowed him to view multiple levels of education through a variety of different lenses. In addition to his public school roles, Dr. Wicker has also served on the collegiate level as an Adjunct Professor and the first Campus Director for the Call Me MiSTER Program at Newberry College. Dr. Wicker received a BS in Elementary Education from Newberry College, a MS in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from Walden University. Dr. Wicker is excited and honored to work alongside his esteemed and knowledgeable colleagues to create equitable learning environments through professional development opportunities.
